The Sustainable Stateroom project focuses on creating a next-generation cabin concept. The project combines innovative design, alternative materials and smart features to improve energy efficiency and passenger experience on cruise ships.

The goal is not just to create a single cabin prototype, but to create a wide range of sustainable solutions from which customers can choose the options that best suit them.

“Our project will continue next year, but we have already managed to find a wide range of solutions that reduce emissions both individually and when used together. Winning the award is a great recognition for our entire team and it shows we are on the right path also on a global level”, sums up Sarita Manikas, Sustainable Stateroom’s Project Manager.

NEcOLEAP projects gathered interest at the trade fair

The Meyer Turku team also held their own session on sustainable materials and cabins at the Sustainable Design Summit, which was followed by a large number of interested people. Manikas tells that the visitors showed respect and interest in Meyer Turku’s sustainability work.

“The trade fair offered us a great opportunity to network, meet industry operators face to face and gain international visibility for the Turku shipyard. It was inspiring to notice that responsibility plays a bigger role year by year and that the industry is working towards the same goals”, Manikas comments.

Congratulations to the whole team on the fantastic achievement!
