Meyer Turku acquires beehives for the shipyard
Things are changing at the shipyard! Five beehives have been moved to the shipyard area, and a meadow classified as extremely endangered has been identified near the shipyard. It was discovered when we were trying to find a place for a flower garden.
Our work to preserve the meadow is in full swing. Other trees, such as aspen and birch, are cleared from the area so that junipers in particular can grow. Among the harmful species, lupine had spread to the area, which was removed first. Beehives were moved to the area to pollinate natural plants. The hives contain a total of about 150,000 bees!
Maintaining and protecting the nature and environment surrounding the shipyard are important issues for Meyer that support the green transition.
