The GT Lab Lectures’ proposed topics include:

  • 9.10.2024: Industry Transition in Maritime – Green Transition Lab case. (Professor Kim Wikström; Åbo Akademi)
  • 23.10.2024: Technological Roadmapping for Maritime Industry Transformation. (Dr. Anastasia Tsvetkova, Professor Magnus Hellström; Åbo Akademi)
  • 20.11.2024: Towards Green Transition in Structural Design of Marine Structures. (Professor Jani Romanoff; Aalto University)
  • 18.12.2024: Digitalization and Smart Technology for Industry Transformation. (Professor Sebastian Lafond; Åbo Akademi)

Reducing the carbon footprint in ships and shipbuilding is a strategic priority for the maritime industry to meet social, economic, and environmental responsibilities.

This green transformation is expected to significantly alter maritime operations, supply chains, and workforce dynamics, reflecting the global trend towards sustainability. A key aspect of this transformation is fostering collaboration between industrial and academic stakeholders, both of which are critical to success.

The transition process requires new knowledge and innovative educational solutions.

The Green Transition Lab (GT Lab), established by Åbo Akademi University and Turku shipyard, Meyer Turku, aims to connect academia and industry by aligning their efforts, resources, and knowledge towards the common objective of a climate-positive future for the maritime sector.

Welcome!
